Locklane Therapies, has partnered with Lanarkshire Carers Centre since 2025, donating therapy treatments via the Respitality programme and supporting unpaid carers to have a much-needed break from their caring role.

Owner Joanne was an unpaid carer for her mum and accessed support from Lanarkshire Carers Centre during COVID. She said that it was always such a welcoming environment for her. As a business owner she approached the carers centre about how she could give back:

“I can see these breaks are needed, I can’t imagine how difficult some situations are so it’s important to me to give back to those who need it the most. I love offering these breaks. It takes time for people to open up, I love the chat and the relationships we build. I’m glad I can support."

Joanne is now a regular donor and has donated 13 breaks to support unpaid carers across Lanarkshire so far.

Shared Care Scotland also recently visited Lanarkshire Carers Centre. We were lucky to meet Joanne and the team to hear more about this impactful Respitality partnership.

Thank you to Joanne at Locklane Therapies. Their generosity shows local businesses can make a meaningful difference to unpaid carers.
